How Our Window Cleaning Company Came to Be
When Chris Fisher graduated from college in 1998, he chose to create a company with the intention of helping others and creating opportunities for individuals to become leaders. He took his business from one man with a squeegee to a company that has served thousands of homeowners throughout West Michigan. In 2006, he chose to offer holiday light installation services during the slow season in order to provide his employees with more work opportunities.
Chris also loved the concept of business systems. He chose to promote Lee DeJonge and Aaron Haarsma to system-writing roles in order for them to build a company that could be replicated by someone with a drive to work hard and serve others.
In 2012, Chris took major steps forward when he sold Shine® to his lifelong friends, who created the first Shine® franchises. He and his family of six moved to serve the less fortunate in Uganda for the next few years.
Matthew DeYoung joined Shine® after working with entrepreneurs and orphans in Tanzania. Chris wanted him to grow his new franchise business in order to preserve the culture of employee empowerment and servant leadership. Chris wanted Matt to grow his organization with incredible people and lead them with respect, autonomy, and a dedication to the franchise service.
