Shine is a professional exterior cleaning and lighting company serving residential and commercial properties through 60+ locally owned locations across more than 18 states. Founded in 1999 and headquartered in West Michigan, Shine provides window cleaning, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, roof cleaning, and outdoor lighting services as part of the Evive Brands family.
The Shine Story The Shine Story
Shine began in 1999 with a bucket, a gas station squeegee, and an idea. After college, Chris Fisher started a window cleaning business called Golden Eagle Cleaning, inspired by his college basketball team and his coach’s guiding principle: “No Excuses.” That mindset of taking responsibility, working hard, and doing what it takes still influences Shine today.
Chris’s wife, Michelle, was part of the business from the beginning, managing the finances with paper ledgers and helping service some of their earliest customers. As the company grew, Chris took on whatever work was needed, from window cleaning to less glamorous jobs like cleaning restaurant kitchens before dawn. Together, they were building more than a service business. They wanted to create something rooted in family, opportunity, and service to others.
That vision became Shine. Guided by Zig Ziglar’s principle that helping others get what they want helps you achieve what you want, Chris and Michelle built the company around five core values and a belief that even routine services can be delivered with extraordinary care.
That belief still guides Shine today: creating a brighter world through exceptional service, strong relationships, and people who are encouraged to let their light shine.
From One Bucket to a National Home Services Brand

Shine began life in West Michigan as Golden Eagle Window Cleaning, the brainchild of Chris Fisher, a man with a squeegee and a bucket.

2006
Golden Eagle Window Cleaning becomes Shine Window Care and Holiday Lighting, offering a new holiday lighting service.

2012
The company rises to a new level by forming a franchising company, Shine Development Inc., d.b.a. Shine Window Care® and Shine Holiday Lighting®.

2018
Shine becomes a leader in the home services industry and grows to 45 individually-owned franchise locations operating in 14 states.

Shine joined the Evive Brands family, a portfolio of purpose-driven home service brands built to serve communities nationwide.

In 2015, Chris and Michelle founded Arrows + Hope, a ministry dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children in Uganda. Arrows + Hope provides educational scholarships, discipleship, and programs designed to help children and families build more sustainable futures.
Shine Franchise Group supports the founders’ vision by dedicating a portion of each franchise sale to Arrows + Hope and helping connect supporters in the U.S. with sponsorship opportunities.
